We are extremely proud to announce that our very own Senior Marketing Consultant, Kara has been shortlisted in this year’s Digital Women Awards!
Kara has been shortlisted for the Digital Women Role Model of the Year Award, which aims to recognise and uplift women who use their own time, knowledge and experience to motivate others and inspire them to reach their full potential by overcoming any obstacles that stand in their way.
Since relocating to the U.K. to join her husband and graduating with a B.A in Public Relations in 2017, Kara has built an enviable career for herself, gaining a wealth of marketing and SEO experience in a variety of different industries.
At Coderus, Kara is responsible for managing our SEO, PR and content marketing strategies, as well as leading our development team on website improvements.
Kara also leads our Marketing Partnership with Adastral Women in Tech, a network of women who work at Adastral Park and encourage greater diversity within the sector by hosting monthly Knowledge Calls and weekly Python Coding Club classes.
Since joining us, Kara has encouraged our team to improve our own diversity and inclusion policies and arranged vital mental health and wellbeing training for our team.
Outside of work, Kara took on a mentorship role in the Women in Tech SEO 2020 Mentor Programme and continues mentoring her mentee to this day, despite the programme having finished.
As well as this, Kara is a GirlGuiding leader and has led workshops for her Girl Guides on body, image, self-esteem, branding and business.
Alongside one of our developers, Shaun, Kara is also CEO of Stress-Buddy – a mental health app startup that she started after winning Innovate Suffolk’s Mental Health Hackathon in 2019.
We wish Kara all the best in the next stages of this well-deserved award!
